Join admissions professionals from several Small Town Outreach and Rural Yield (STORY) Consortium institutions –Washington & Lee University, Wellesley College, the University of Chicago, the University of Maryland, and Cornell University– to learn about holistic admissions, advice for the application process, and information about financial aid. This virtual session will provide helpful insights to students from rural areas and small towns as they navigate the college process and consider their post-secondary options. Representatives will also share school-specific information highlighting the academic programs, campus life, and traditions that make these colleges a home for students from rural and small towns.
STORY welcomes all students with an intentional focus on students from small-town and rural environments. While there is no specific definition that must be fulfilled to be considered a rural or small town student, you can use the National Center for Education Statistics Locale Lookup to start understanding how your home might be categorized. Rural and small town cultures vary tremendously throughout the US, and we acknowledge that each rural area and small town is unique.
