Diversity and Inclusion Campus Visit: Counselor Nomination

As we continue to adapt to COVID-19 we have decided to host the Diversity and Inclusion Visit Experience (DIVE) virtually this Fall. Dates and schedule will be confirmed later this summer.

DIVE Fall 2020 will still feature a tailored introduction to the liberal arts and residential campus life at W&L with an emphasis on the diverse voices and experiences of our students. The program is open to high school seniors (class of 2021) and gap year students who will be entering first-year students in Fall 2021. Students who are best served by this program will fall into one or more of the following categories:
    • Self-identified student of color (Black or African-American, Latinx, Native American, and/or Asian)
    • Qualify for Free or Reduced Lunch
    • Eligible for the Pell Grant or the W&L Promise
    • DACA or undocumented
    • First-Gen

We are excited to review your students’ DIVE applications! Here’s an important update:
W&L recognizes that this is a challenging time for rising seniors, and as such we have decided to move to a  test-optional policyfor the 2020-2021 application cycle. As such, the DIVE application will also be test-optional.
We will also ask for the following materials in the application:
    • Unofficial transcript (including 9th, 10th and 11th grades)
    • Proposed senior course list
    • Activities list or resume which can include including employment, clubs, sports, and family responsibilities(We understand activities and employment have likely been impacted by COVID-19. Students are welcome to share these changes.)
    • Optional: Self-reported test scores (SAT, ACT, PSAT, pre-ACT)
